Aistear – School

Aistear is in full swing in the Junior Infant classrooms. Our topic this month is ‘School‘. Children will be exploring vocabulary associated with this topic and will link it to other subjects, such as Geography, i.e. mapping our journey to school. The children will take a tour around the school exploring the different rooms i.e. the computer room, the library and will even get a special tour around Mrs. Hughes’s office. 

During the month they will role play the different roles of the school, listen to stories about school, play school bingo, use various things to build a school and make school furniture, practise writing and create pictures.

Parents can develop this topic at home with their children through discussion and make believe play.
