Parents

At Scoil Mhuire Junior, we place great value on the voice of our parents and guardians. Following our recent survey on Physical Education and Active Schools, we are delighted to share how your feedback is helping to shape and strengthen our approach.

We were very encouraged to see that the vast majority of children enjoy their PE lessons and playground time, with many parents highlighting how excited their children are to take part. It was also positive to hear that movement breaks throughout the day are widely supported, with parents recognising their importance in helping children to refocus and thrive in the classroom.

Your suggestions have been incredibly helpful. Parents shared ideas such as introducing a wider variety of playground activities, including games, nature-based play, and more structured activity stations. We are now exploring ways to build on this, including adding new playground markings, equipment, and inclusive activity options to ensure all children can participate and enjoy being active.

We also appreciated thoughtful feedback on initiatives such as skipping challenges and Active School Week. In response, we are looking at how we can provide more inclusive options within activities, ensuring that every child can take part in a way that suits their abilities while still enjoying the experience.

Many parents expressed enthusiasm for “learning on the move” and outdoor activities, and we are excited to continue developing these opportunities across the school day.

Thank you for your continued support and for sharing your ideas with us. By working together, we can continue to create a positive, active, and inclusive environment for all our pupils.
