Mrs Hughes was given a very memorable and touching send off. The children and staff performed very special songs and poems for her.

Junior Infants said a beautful poem called, ‘Mrs Hughes You Are a Star.’

Senior Infants sang a wonderful song called, ‘Dance Mrs Hughes’

First Class sang a brilliant mash up of songs, ‘Blakestown Girl,’ and ‘Galway Girl.’

Second Class sang the stunning ‘Blakestown Queen,’ ‘So What,’ and ‘The Locomotion.

We had a very special ‘This is Your Life’ performed by First & Second Class.

To finish the assembly the staff of Scoil Mhuire Junior played a music video they made for Mrs Hughes.

It was a very special and moving assembly for Mrs Hughes, her Mammy, the children and staff.

On Mrs Hughes’s last day Wednesday the 19th of February she had a very special treat for all the boys and girls, each child got a treat bag, a Principal’s Award and she held disco for all the children in the PE hall. Such great memories we all have to cherish of her last few days.
