Grandparents’ Day

OFF

On Wednesday 28th of January 2015 Scoil Mhuire celebrated Grandparents’ Day.

The event began with Mrs. Hughes welcoming all the boys and girls to the special assembly and everyone then gave a special welcome to all the grandparents who came to the school.

It truly was a very special assembly, the Early Start & Junior Infant children read out a lovely poem. Senior Infant children told us all the great and fabulous things their grandparents do for them.

1st class children read out beautifully written lines they wrote about their grandparents.

2nd class children read out fabulous poems they wrote about their grandparents.

The children really spoke from the heart and their words were all so touching.

Mrs. Hughes thanked all the grandparents for coming to the school to spend time with their grandchildren. She and some children read out lovely prayers that summed up how much we value our grandparents and all they do.

We finished the assembly with a beautiful song.

The atmosphere in the school that day was amazing and the grandparents definitely knew how much they were loved and valued.

We would like to say big THANK YOU to all the GRANDPARENTS who came to the school and also a very special THANK YOU to Cáitlín our HSCL teacher for organising the very special event.
