September and October have been busy in 2nd class. We are getting used to being back in school. We have made the most of outdoor learning. Have a look at some of the activities we have enjoyed so far. Happy Halloween to everybody and stay safe 🙂

We have enjoyed many outdoor lessons. We celebrated International Tree Day on October 1st and made some Pattern Art outside using twigs, stones and leaves. We also created our own Magic Stick Wands from natural materials we found outdoors! We did a tree walk in our school and used our Maths Eyes to make a tally of how many trees we have in Scoil Mhuire Junior.

We are so lucky in 2nd class. We are doing G.A.A with Amanda. We are practicing many skills such as running, jumping, throwing, catching, hand passing, soloing and kicking the ball. We have also been keeping fit by running around our school grounds everyday. We are improving each week. We are getting fitter and faster!

We had lots of fun during Maths Weeks. We became shape experts and learned lots about 2D and 3D shapes. We played “Guess the Shape” and drew 2D shapes outside. We traced our bodies and drew lines of symmetry! We also played number games in our pods using a deck of cards. It was lots of fun !
